Power Laces in 2015!

If you're a fan of sci-fi, Michael J. Fox, time travel, or movies in general, than you know the Nike MAG. The iconic sneaker first made it's appearance in the second installment of the Back to the Future trilogy- seen below:

Made popular by the sleek, minimal design, attractive lights, and the unheard-of 'self-tying' laces, the Nike MAG has been one of the premiere holy grails for sneaker collectors. It was a futuristic concept in 1989, the year of the film's release, but wait... it's 2014! A year away from 2015, when Marty McFly actually wears the hi-top sneaker in the series.

Check out what legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield had to say in an interview with solecollector:

"Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!"

To which shoe the power laces will debut in is still a mystery although the rumors of the Nike MAGs re-releasing in 2015 has always been around. You may remember when the shoe actually went into a small scale production of 1500 pairs, selling solely on eBay in 2011. Proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, eventually raising more than 6 million.

Say what you will about the shoe, but I'm looking to own a piece of history when these return to the market!
